GHS Music Parents' Telethon Hits Our Airwaves!

Tonight, from 6PM to 9PM, GCTV will be turning Cable Channel 15 over to Greenfield High School Band & Chorus members (and their parents, of course) to help them raise money for the wonderful music programs taught by Paul Calcari. When you tune in tonight you will hear all kinds of music from Jazz to Broadway, solo performances, small groups, and even an interview with Greenfield Schools Superintendent Susan Hollins. Host Dan Guin will be encouraging you to call 413-774-4300 and support these amazing young people.

New Content on Our Youtube Channel

Musician, and independent producer, Laura Siersema has followed up her "All Souls Mid-week Music with Laura Siersema & Gary Snedeker" program with a series of videos on Youtube featuring the music from her new CD "Talon of the Blackwater". Laura worked with GCTV staffer Owen Weaver to add the music to still images of her album's artwork in Final Cut Pro on one of our Macs. The results are now available for viewing as part of the "Individual Producers' Videos" Playlist on our Youtube Channel. Here's a sample:

Excerpt from new Mid-week Music

Producer and musician Laura Siersema put together a half-hour GCTV show after she performed recently at All Souls Church as part of their Mid-week Music series. Here is an excerpt from that show.

Busy, busy, busy!

You can tell just from our list of upcoming events that this Spring is going to be very busy here at GCTV. In addition to all our volunteer opportunities, there are a lot of interesting events that will be held at GCTV starting with the Greening Greenfield Energy Committee's "Biomass 101" lecture on Tuesday April 7th. Stay tuned to this blog for more information.

Spring is also meeting season, and GCTV will be covering as many of them as we can, so our schedule is filling up. Make sure you plan well in advance to reserve any equipment, studio, staff, or computer time that you need.

New programming has also arrived: David Arfa's "Jar of Tears" (a Holocaust memorial project), a brand new "All Souls Mid-week Music" concert (featuring Laura Siersema & Gary Snedeker), "Northern Star Radio presents Musician John McHugh", and "Mayor Forgey's 2010 Budget Proposal Press Conference" have all joined our line-up so keep an eye out for them.
