Check out what our local producers are doing!

As part of our ongoing effort to include more video in this blog, here is an offering from Jimmie Bailey. In addition to his work on "Local Bias", Jimmie produces his own videos. This one is a tribute to cider season here in the Pioneer Valley. Keep checking back for more videos! Also, check out the sidebar (right-hand side of this blog and scroll down) for just added "Local Bias" videos! ---Alicia

We had a celebrity in the office yesterday.

Joseph Culp (actor/writer/filmmaker son of actor Robert Culp {of "I Spy" & "Greatest American Hero" fame}) came by to record an interview, with one of our regular producers, to help promote his new film "The Reflecting Pool". Joseph has been acting for a long time, even guesting on "Greatest American Hero" with his dad. For my fellow Sci Fi geeks reading this, he was in an episode of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and for the rest of you, he was also in an episode of "ER".

We have two meetings tonight. I'll be in the office directing the Franklin County Regional Council of Governments' (FRCOG) meeting and Scott will be at the high school with the school committee. The school committee will be broadcast live and we'll air the FRCOG meeting tomorrow. ---Alicia

The tech gremlins came to visit us this week.

Some of you may have noticed some strange happenings on the air this week. Our server (which is the device we use to schedule and air our programming, and which was recently upgraded) appeared to have a mind of it's own early in the week when it switched our password without our consent. Yesterday it decided to play a joke on us, several times, by indicating that it had switched from programming to our community bulletin board but instead we had dead air. Finally, due to a bad cable, the live broadcast of last night's school committee meeting kept cutting out and being replaced by what was airing from our server (the community bulletin board). We believe that the gremlins have now gone back home and, thankfully, the meeting last night was recorded in it's entirety. It will be re-broadcast tomorrow at 1pm. ---Alicia

We had a busy week here at the studio.

IMPORTANT: WE WILL BE CLOSED FRIDAY JULY 4TH

Five shows were filmed in our studio this week: Dukes of Sports, Homegrown, Windchanger, Franklin County Matters, and Fat Guys on Film. In addition, I covered the School Committee meeting on Wednesday night and Scott covered the Town Council meeting last night. Our four editing computers were used by producers for more than 17 hours this week as they finished or continued projects. Several new producers received training on iMovie from me and Scott. Not bad for a four day work week. ---Alicia
